TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla has invited the British businesses to invest in infrastructure development, which is claimed to be a good sector for investors.

"This sector gives beneficial opportunities to both countries. I hope British investors participate in not only trade improvement, but also infrastructure development," said Kalla on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

According to Kalla, Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, needs a significant infrastructure development and facilities, such as ports, airports and power plants, especially in the eastern part of the country.

Kalla added that the electricity sector could also be considered as a good sector for British investors, especially that now the government has launched the 35,000-megawatt power plant program, which is hoped to be completed in five years.

After meeting with President Joko Widodo on Monday, July 27, 2015, British Prime Minister David Cameron met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday to attend the Indonesia-UK business forum, which involves entrepreneurs from both countries.

Kalla said that the meeting can strengthen the cooperation between both countries and improve social welfare.
