TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani said that investment in Indonesia would not be disrupted by economic condition both in Indonesia and in the world.

"What we’re seeing now is how investors continued growing to do expansion,” Franky said in his visit to Banten on Friday (12/6).

One of the basic organic chemical industry companies PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical (CAP) that is expanding its project regions is now 49 percent complete. CAP is also planning to build power generation with the capacity of 1.000 megawatt.

The capacity is bigger than the need used by CAP so it is expected that it can supply their surplus of electricity to state-owned electricity company (PLN).

Franky said that the government must continue to help investors realizing investment because the outcomes would help the country. If a number of difficulties faced by investors can be solved, Franky believed that a number of projects could be finished on time or even faster.

"If they are asked to accelerate the projects, they agree to it on the condition that the government could do one or two things,” he said.

He also said that BKPM would continue help solve problems faced by companies in realizing their investment in Indonesia.
