TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Consulate in China, along with the Chinese local government, has planned to investigate the distribution of rice mixed with plastic grains from China to Indonesia.
"Whether the synthetic rice came from China is yet to be concluded. If the laboratory results are confirmed, then we can figure out how to deal with it," Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia Soegeng Rahardjo told Antara in Beijing on Friday, May 22, 2015.
Dandy Iswara, trade attache at the Indonesian Embassy to China said that he would have a meeting with Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQIQ) in relation to the allegation on the origin of the plastic rice.
"We will discuss the steps to investigate the issue and the possibility of synthetic rice [being] exported to Indonesia," Dandy said.
