Domestic Investment Grows Highest in Q1: BKPM

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Franky Sibarani, head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said that investment in the first quarter of this year rose significantly with domestic investment scoring a higher growth than foreign.
Actualized investments in Q1/2015 amounted to Rp124.6 trillion, a 16.9 percent increase from the previous quarter. The value of domestic investment reached Rp42.5 trillion, an increase of 22.8 percent. Meanwhile, foreign investment grew 14 percent to Rp82.1 trillion.
Franky said incoming investment during the first quarter reached 24 percent, or a quarter of the total year-end target, which is set at Rp519.5 trillion. Judging from the current rate, Franky is confident that the annual investment target will be achieved.
