ERP Tender to Be Delayed Due to Overlapping Regulations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The tender process for the electronic road pricing (ERP) system that was scheduled to be held in April may have to be delayed due to overlapping regulations, Jakarta Transportation Agency head Benjamin Bukit said on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. In addition, the Jakarta Transportation Agency is still discussing about the category of the ERP system.
"We're still figuring out whether [ERP] is categorized into retribution or service," Benjamin said.
Benjamin admitted that he could not confirm which companies will participate in the tender. According to Benjamin, Kapsch and Q-Free might be interested to take part in the tender. Both companies will perform trials on the ERP system.
Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said in February that there were two companies interested in participating for the ERP tender, namely Q-Free from Norwegia and Kapsch from Sweden. The former had performed trial on ERP on September 2014 at Jalan Rasuna Said, while the latter performed the trial in July 2014 at Jalan Sudirman.
Benjamin added that the system had been working well during the trials.
