President Jokowi Launches 2015 Jakarta Food Security Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially launched the 3rd Jakarta Food Security Summit (JFSS), which is scheduled to be held on February 12 to February 13, 2015, at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC).


The Summit is coordinated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) in Jakarta, and will include several events such as seminars on food security, as well as crop trade shows and exhibitions.


During the Summit, President Jokowi is scheduled to engage with farmers and their representatives in a dialogue, which will be chaired by JFSS Chairman Franky Oesman Widjaja.


The Summit will also be followed by a panel discussion that will focus on "The Development of Co-Operatives as a Key to Success in the Field of Agriculture, Farming, and Fisheries".


The Summit's second day will be focused on a panel discussion titled "Co-Operative Funding in the Field of Agriculture, Farming, and Fisheries".


Other discussions will include a series on "Spatial Planning and Land Availability to Ensure Food Security", advanced and specialised discussions on agriculture, farming, and fisheries, which will be concluded by a seminar presentation on food security by KADIN's Chairman for Indonesia's Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
