South Korea Reaches Asian Cup Final

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - South Korea have managed a spot in the Asian Cup final round, after defeating Iraq 2-0 in ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on Monday January 26. The Taeguk Warrior will face the winner of between Australia-UEA clash that will play on Tuesday.
The Koreans were the more dominant side in the match, with Lee Jung-Hyub scoring in the 20th and Kim Young-Gwon doubled the lead in the 50th.
The final spot is the first that the Koreans achieved in Asian Cup since 1988. Prior to ‘88 final, South Korea have won twice, in 1956 and 1960.
As for Iraq, the sour defeat in Sydney canceled their impressive run in the tournament. Nevertheless, the Mesopotamian Lion still have the chance to win the third place against the other ruled out semifinalist.
