Ronaldo Awarded Red Card, Madrid Still on Top

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the spotlight again but this time is for lashing out frustration against two of the opponent player during Madrid’s winning over Cordoba 2-1 on Saturday. The Balloon d’Or winner was sent off the pitch at 82 minute for his misconduct.
The 29-year-old flung an arm at Jose Angel Crespo before kicking out at Edimar in the aftermath of a Madrid free kick, prompting the referee to award an immediate red card.
The score was 1-1 when Ronaldo exited and Real Madrid beat Cordoba on a late penalty executed by Gareth Bale.
Madrid continue to rule at the top of Spain La Liga with 48 points from 19 matches. Cordoba stays at the 14th with 18 points.
