TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) will implement integrity zone or anti-corruption zone in government agencies next year.

“Bappenas will handle its implementation in governments. If not, KPK will take over,” said KPK deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto on Monday.

Integrity zone starts from recruitment of officials to promotion. KPK is also working with the Culture, Primary and Secondary Education Ministry to train 2,000 lecturers in anti-corruption education.

KPK is also designing youth camp program, which is an anti-corruption education for youths and students, as well as super camp program for teachers to include anti-corruption education as a school subject.

Transparency International Indonesia secretary-general Dadang Trisasongko said the agency has worked with several schools in creating budget governance and transparency. Teachers can report through text messages and e-mails if they find irregularities.

“Stakeholders such as education agencies, headmasters, committees and teachers sit together to solve a problem,” said Dadang. Transparency International has also worked with the KPK to make a documentary about anti-corruption campaign that has been distributed to all regions in Indonesia.
