Garuda Indonesia Prepares Additional Seats for Holiday Season

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia airline will provide 9,000 additional seats during the Christmas 2014 and New Year 2015 holiday season, consisting of 5,804 seats for domestic flights, and 4,030 seats for international flights.
Garuda stated in a media conference on Monday, December 15, 2014, that it will also increase its flight frequency and operate its large aircraft such as the Boeing B737-800NG (with 162 seats), Airbus A330-200 (222 seats), Airbus A330-300 (257 seats) and Boeing B747-400 (457 seats), which will operate starting on December 20, 2014 until January 9, 2015.
Based on data from the Ministry of Transportation, until Friday, December 12, 2014, four airlines have submitted additional flights for periods between December 22, 2014, until January 4, 2015. The four airlines are Citilink, Garuda Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air and Nam Air.
The Ministry of Transportation predicted that there will be 3,722,616 people traveling by planes during this year Christmas and New Year holiday. The number is 5.85 percent higher compared to the 2013 Christmas and 2014 New Year holiday season with only 3,521,468 people.
