TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fahrurrozi Ishaq, 'opposing' governor of Jakarta appinted by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), challenged Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama to cinduct a survey because he doubted that Ahok was chosen by the people.
"Ahok was elected by President Joko Widodo," said Fahrurrozi at his residence in East Jakarta on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
He said that Ahok was appointed as governor unconstitutionally, which is why he is very confident to go forward as Ahok's rival governor. "Just ask around. Everyone knows who I am," Fahrurrozi said.
He also claimed to have gained support from various parties such as civil society organizations, interfaith organizations and students, making him the official governor of Jakarta.
