Fuel Hike Announced after Jokowi Returns

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sudirman Said, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the government is waiting for President Joko Widodo to return from his state visits before announcing the subsidized fuel price hike. The president, who is still attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in China, will make the announcement himself, Sudirman said.
"The president is still in Beijing and will go to Myanmar, of course we are still waiting for him," Sudirman told reporters on Tuesday, November 11.
Since Saturday, November 8, the president has been on a string of official state visits. After Beijing, Jokowi will go to Myanmar to attend the ASEAN Summit and then go straight to Australia for the G20 meeting. The president is scheduled to return to Indonesia on November 16.
