TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Former Democrat treasurer-cum-graft convict M. Nazaruddin said in yesterday’s hearing of the Hambalang graft case at the Anti-corruption Court that former Democrat chair Anas Urbaningrum once visited him at the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) prison in Depok.

“Anas visited me once,” he said on Thursday, August 21, 2014.

Nazar said the purpose of Anas’ visit was to sway him into not shedding light on the graft cases implicating the former. “It is enough to this point, don’t say anything anymore,” Nazaruddin quoted Anas as saying.

Nazaruddin told the court about Anas’ visit when he was asked as to who had paid him a visit during in prison. Anas made the visit despite the hefty security and restricted access at the Brimob prison that barred anyone from entering except for relatives and those with special permits.

Anas, upon hearing Nazar’s testimony, only smiled while his supporters from the United Indonesia Movement were booing Nazar.
