TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chief of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), General Moeldoko, held an internal meeting in the National Armed Forces Headquarter concerning the entering of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to Indonesia. “After that, I’ll be having a meeting in the presidential palace,” Moeldoko told reporters Monday, in his office in the National Armed Forces Headquarter in Cilangkap.
In the internal meeting, General Moedoko summons several high ranking Armed Forces officials, one of them is the Head of Strategic Intelligent, Major General M. Erwin Syafitri. Moeldoko requested the intelligence report towards ISIS. However, Moeldoko hasn’t been willing to share the result with the medias. “Just wait, allow me to report it to the President first,” Moeldoko said.
Erwin Syafitri said to have prepared the material report concerning ISIS to be conveyed to Mr. Moeldoko. “I will report it to the Chief of Armed Forces first,” he said.
Previously, a video of ISIS recruitment in Indonesia that urges Indonesian moslems to join the group circulates. The movement surfaces from several regions such as Solo, Malang and other cities.
Deputy of Prevention Protection Agency and the National Counter-terrorism Deradicalisation, Major General Agus Surya Bhakti, said to have detected the entering of ISIS before the organization was declared in the middle east.
