Ranieri Becomes Greece New Coach

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former coach of Chelsea Claudio Ranieri is now the official national coach for Greece football team. The 62-year-old has replaced Fernando Santos whose contract ended after the 2014 World Cup.
Ranieri's last coaching job was with AS Monaco where he was sacked in the end of 2013/2014 season despite of bolting the club to finish as second at Ligue 1. Greece becomes the 15th club for Ranieri to showcase his managerial skill. He had previously coached Napoli, Fiorentina, Parma, Juventus, Roma and Inter in Italy.
"Claudio Ranieri signed a two-year contract with the Greek Football Federation and is the new coach of the national team," the Greek Football Federation have stated on their website yesterday, as reported by Football Italia.
"The Italian Coach, with service at many major European clubs, is expected to lead our group to new successes with Euro 2016 on the horizon."
The Italian coach is expected to lead the team to new successes in Euro 2016, a target that seems to be achievable by Ranieri. Greece will have to struggle against Hungary, Romania, Finland, North Ireland, and Faroe Island in the Euro’s Group F qualification.
