TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto complained about the trashes piling up in several landfill locations in the City. He complained because the piles are consisting of not only trashes that produced by Bogor, but also trashes "smuggled" by people outside the city.
"I receive reports from the people and the agency heads that lots of trashes from outside of the city are piled up in the TPS (landfills) in Bogor during the night time," said Bima. The mayor further said that he will confirm the information.
According to Bima, Bogor is currently has no option other than to dispose its municipal waste to Galuga landfill which is located in Bogor Regency. Meanwhile, the waste management MoU with the Bogor Regency administration will soon due. Bima is hoping for new method that based on technology or involving the residents in the waste management.
Head of Bogor City Park and Sanitation Agency, Uju Juyono, said that the volume of trashes in Bogor reaches up to 2,484 meter cubic per day. The city is currently relying on Galuga landfil to dispose its wastes.
