TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mount Slamet erupted, spewing bright volcanic materials and thundering noise. "The intensity and distance of the materials were less than two kilometers," said the Head of Geology Agency at the Mineral and Energy Resources Ministry Surono.

Regardless, he stated that the mountain's status remains at alert, until further recommendation. "The mount's peak is closed at two kilometers radius," he said.

The head of the observation outpost at Gambuhan Village, Sudrajat, stated that the mountain has been spewing volcanic materials since the last six days, with the highest altitude reaching 500 meters. "It is possible that the lava is building up, reaching the surface of the peak," he said.

He added that the new status will be established following an observation to the mountain's condition. "We are keeping track of the eruption," he said.
