TEMPO.CO, Serang - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has been predicted to win the legislative election. The PDI-P will likely to secure 16 seats at the Banten Legislative Council (DPRD), leaving the Banten Legislative Council chief position in the party's hand.

PDI-P Banten head, Ribka Tjiptaning said the PDI-P has prepared a mechanism to elect a cadre to be prepared as the Legislative Council’s chief.

"We will conduct a due diligence on members of the Banten Legislative Council from the PDI-P," Ribka said.

The party has also gained the majority of votes in East Java, according to a survey conducted by a pollster, Proximity. The survey, which involved 1,600 respondents and employed multistage random sampling with 2.45 percent margin of error showed that the PDI-P is on top with 24.6 percent of votes, followed by the National Awakening Party (PKB) with 22.4 percent, the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) with 9.5 percent, the Democrat Party with 7.8 percent, and the Functional Group Party (Golkar) with 5.1 percent.
