TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PresidentDirector of construction company Wijaya Karya (IDX: WIKA), Bintang Perbowo, said that at the end of last year the company signed an agreement with Pertamina. The state-owned oil and gas company will be supplying household gas to apartments built by WIKA.
"All apartments built by Wijaya Karya group will have LPG installations," Bintang said after WIKA's general meeting of shareholders in Jakarta yesterday.
Bintang said that one apartment in Bandung, West Java, has already utilize Pertamina's gas supply.
The WIKA-Pertamina cooperation is quite interesting because State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan had advocated state-owned contractors and real estate developers to work with national gas company PGN before starting construction.
Dahlan said that the availability of gas utility in residential properties would become a point of attraction to potential buyers.
