TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - DKI Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo on Thursday instructed the Jakarta Monorail to immediately settle its debt to Adhi Karya, compensation for more than the 90 pillars that were constructed from 2004 to 2008.
Joko feels this payment is crucial because he does not want the project to be hampered again. Jakarta Monorail has not been able to continue developments using these pillars because it has not yet settled its debt.
Jakarta Monorail president director John Aryananda on Thursday opted to keep his lips shut on this saying it is "still under discussion" and "cannot be revealed" to the public yet. However, he said the issues with his company’s former partner, Adhi Karya, would not obstruct the continuation of the project.
