TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-After being on the run for about a week, Commisioner General (Ret.) Susno Duadji finally surrendered himself on May 2, around midnight Western Indonesia Time. Currently, Susno is being detained at the Cibinong penitentiary.
"Susno surrendered himself to the Cibinong penitentiary," a member of the Attorney General Office team stated on Friday, May 3.
Prior to his surrender, investigation team picked up Susno's trail at the Intel Training Center Compound in Soreang sub-district, Bandung. A day later, he was detected to be around the Setiabudi area in Bandung.
Brigadier Boy Rafli Amar, the Chief of Indonesian Police Information Bureau, said that tracking Susno was not easy, even with the help of the Police's Cyber Crime Unit.
Susno became a fugitive after his appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, and has to pay Rp 200 million (US$ 20,533) fine and Rp 4 billion (US$ 410,677) of compensation for state losses.
