TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The manager of Kalibata City Apartment, South Jakarta, will prevent the rent of the apartment units on a daily basis to prevent the practice of prostitution.
It was agreed at a meeting between Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, the apartment manager and the apartment residents on Sunday, September 16.
“We ask the manager not to rent the units on a daily basis, but at least per month,” South Jakarta Mayor Marula said on Monday, September 17.

The manager was also asked to collect data on the residents. “So starting today, they have started [data collection],” said Marula.
The police have named three suspects, two of whom are the apartment property agents. The three were caught after the police arrested the 32 people, of whom 17 were female commercial sex workers.
“The manager must follow the solution given by the residents, because those who know how to tweak the system, buy and sell, the rent, are there,” said Anies Baswedan on Sunday, September 16, at the Kalibata City apartment complex.
