TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi said the government would distribute win bonus for Indonesian medallists at Asian Games next week. The disbursement was accelerated considering the achievement gained by Indonesian contingents has exceeded the target.
“We will quicken [the bonus distribution] as ordered by President Joko Widodo,” said Imam in a statement at Jakarta, Thursday, August 30.
Besides the athletes, the prize would also be granted to the coaches and assistant coaches after the closing ceremony of the games on September 2. “The bonus usually takes two to three months to be handed out, as in SEA Games,” he said.
By August 30, Indonesia has bagged 30 gold medals, 23 silvers, and 37 bronzes contributed by dozens of athletes. The country is currently ranked fourth in the acquisition standing, under China, Japan, and South Korea.
