TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Whatsapp announced its new policy regarding data storage, especially for Android users, as of November 12, 2018, the app will delete data that is over one year old.
As reported by Birmingham Mail on Saturday, August 25, this new policy follows the recent partnership that Whatsapp conducted with Google in terms of data storage.
Whatsapp maintained that this policy had to be adopted as to prevent its users from accidentally losing any data either in the form of images, texts, or videos.
Here is what users need to follow upon backing-up your Whatsapp data to your Google Drive. Firstly, make sure you have sufficient storage space and follow it up with:
1. Enter the ‘settings’ menu.
2. Click ‘chat’ and then ‘chat backup.’
3. Then finally choose ‘backup to Google Drive’
