TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Go-Jek reminded its customers to protect themselves from scams that are linked to the ride-hailing app giant. Go-Pay Chief of Compliance Officer Budi Gandasoebrata warned Go-Jek users to not reveal their authentication code to anyone other than themselves.
“We urge customers to refuse anyone claiming to be from Go-Jek and offer you prizes. Immediately report back to our customer service,” said Budi in a press release on Tuesday, February 20.

A Go-Jek authentication code is a one-time-use code acknowledged by banks or credit card publisher. The code has a combination pattern that changes anytime a user logs in the app. Budi explained that Go-Jek has never held a lottery by asking for people’s verification code.
Users should be aware of scams in the form of text messages or SMS from Go-Jek that contains authentication code, despite never logging out of the app.

“This means that someone irresponsible is attempting to access the customer’s Go-Jek app from another phone source,” Budi further explained.
Go-Jek is currently promoting digital campaigns to increase the awareness of consumers on potential scams.
