Lawyer: Setya Novanto`s Questioning Must be Approved by President

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fredrich Yunadi, the lawyer of House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto, said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent a letter summoning his client to attend a questioning on Wednesday, November 15. However, Fredrich insists that the anti-graft commission is not authorized to summon his client.

“I have explained over and over again that the KPK has no authorities to summon Setya Novanto,’ Fredrich said on Tuesday, November 14.

Fredrich made the comment in response to a question related to Setya’s willingness to answer the summons. He revealed that his client has received the letter.

Earlier on Monday, November 13, the KPK summoned Setya as for a questioning as a witness for PT Quadra Solution CEO Anang Sugiana Sudiharjo. However, the DPR Speaker failed to show up and decided to go on a working visit to East Nusa Tenggara.
