TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Functional Group (Golkar) will continue to support Jokowi in the 2019 election although the chairman of the party has been named as a suspect. Setya Novanto, who also serves as the House of Representative's speaker, has been named as a suspect in the e-KTP graft case.

“The suspect naming of Setya Novanto does not affect Golkar’s political party stance to fully support Jokowi – Kalla administration,” Golkar Central Executive Board secretary general Idrus Marham said during a Golkar Party Faction Meeting at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

Golkar also expects that the party’s faction at the House will support the government’s policy, including the new bill on mass organizations.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday named Setya, who currently serves as the House Speaker and the Golkar Party chairman, for allegedly being involved in the electronic ID (e-KTP) graft case.

Golkar Party chairman Setya Novanto allegedly enriched himself, others or corporations and cause Rp2.1 trillion in state losses in the e-KTP procurement project.
