BNPT: Terrorist Recruitment Area Expands

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) detected the expansion of terrorist recruitment areas carried out by terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD).

"They will do whatever it takes by any means necessary to attract people," BNPT spokesman Irfan Idris said on Saturday (1/7).

Despite the case, Irfan does not reveal in which cells the group which is led by Aman Abdurrahman and pledged allegiance to Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are imprisoned in Nusakambangan penitentiary, Central Java.

Instead, he only mentioned that North Sumatra is one among many other areas that is under strict surveillance of BNPT and National Police.
