TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An unknown man attacked two officers of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) after Isha (communal evening prayer) in Falatehan Mosque, Trunojoyo, South Jakarta on Friday evening, June 30.
"Yes, that’s true," National Police spokesperson Sr. Com. Martinus Sitompul confirmed Friday.
Martinus explained that the attack began after Isha in Falatehan Mosque, an unknown man suddenly stabbed two Brimob officers who were praying next to the perpetrator by using a survival knife.

After stabbing the officers, the attacker threatened the congregation of the mosque by pointing out his knife while shouting out the word 'thagut' (those who disobey God’s law).
The attacker then fled the scene. Later a Brimob officer on guard fired two warning shots, but the attacker kept running and shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) while pointing out the knife.
Finally, the officer shot the attacker and he died at the scene.
