TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Israeli military bombarded Gaza with 160 airstrikes since Tuesday, July 8, 2014, until Wednesday, July 9, 2014. The attack killed at least 32 people and injured more than 150 others.
The airstrike struck the main waste management and clean water facility in the city. Wafa news agency reported that Israel aircrafts targeted the waste management site on the west side of the city, which recycles 25,000 liters of waste water every day and serves the camps in Al-Shati, Tel Al-Hawa, Sheikh Ajilin and western Gaza. It takes around two days to repair the damages.
Local media also reported that the airstrike struck the house of Commander Brigade Qassam, member of the Hamas' military wing yesterday. Other attacks also destroyed the house of military Jihad leader Hafez Hamad, killing four women and children.
The attack was authorized by the Israel cabinet, which approves the mobilization of 40,000 military personnel. Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said that they are preparing a war with Hamas that will not end within a few days.
Meanwhile, the Israel military stated that 4 missiles were fired from Gaza between midnight and dawn. Three of the missile struck Be'er Sheva, a city located on the southern part of Israel. Five more were fired to Tel Aviv but was countered by the Iron Dome system.
