TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Outer Ring Road West 2 (JORR W2) that connects Ulujami and Ciledug will be finished in June 2014, earlier than initial target which is October 2014.
From Tempo's observation, the toll road construction in Ulujami is 70 percent complete and toll booths are in construction. "We were asked to finish it faster, or by before Eid," said Rahmat, the project foreman, yesterday.
The construction in Ulujami is faster than it is in Ciledug, where the construction had been neglected due to land disputes in Pesanggrahan. He believes the construction will be finished before the deadline. "We work in shifts, so the construction keeps going forward."
Rahmat said there are some new technologies used to speed up the construction, such as plaster walls and the use of limestone. The construction in Ciledug has resumed and pillars have been set up in the South Petukangan region which had hampered the project for years.
The length of Ciledug – Ulujami toll road is 2.07 kilometers. According to PT Jasa Marga’s data, the construction process has reached 65 percent. This toll road is included in Kebon Jeruk – Ulujami toll which is 7.67-kilometer long.
