TEMPO.CO, Sragen - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has inaugurated Sragen-Ngawi toll road, part of Solo-Ngawi toll, in the Rest Area 538 B Sragen, today, November 28.
“I hope this Jakarta-Surabaya toll and tourist areas can be integrated by regional heads to attract more tourists,” said President Jokowi.
Jokowi expected the toll road could be optimally benefitted. He also expressed gladness that the rest area had local culinary which was expected to be developed.
“I’m glad to see Soto Kuali, Lontong Opor, Soto Madura, Roti Ganep, and other local foods this morning [in the rest area]. I want the rest area is filled with local products, instead of foreign brands that the local people only act as a spectator,” Jokowi noted.
Attending the inauguration event were State Secretary Minister Pratikno, SOE Minister Rini Soemarno, and officials of state-owned toll operator PT Jasa Marga.
The Sragen-Ngawi toll road is part of Trans Java toll. PT Jasa Marga of Solo Ngawi chapter (JSN) president director David Wijayatno said the toll road had 51 kilometers in length. The toll was opened for the public for free during the past week.
David explained Sragen-Ngawi toll road launched by President Jokowi had eight toll gates (GT), namely GT Colomadu, GT Bandara, GT Ngemplak, GT Purwodadi, GT Karanganyar, GT Sragen, GT Sragen Timur, and GT Ngawi (Kota Ngawi).
