TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi stated during his speech in Pancasila Day ceremony that Pancasila is a blessing from God for Indonesia. He believed Pancasila would forever live in the heart of the nation.
Jokowi explained at the age of 73 years, Pancasila remains to stand in the midst of other ideologies that strived to shift it. “For 73 years, Pancasila becomes our home of Bhineka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity),” said Jokowi today, June 1, in Pancasila Building, Pejambon, Jakarta.
Jokowi said Pancasila was born from the minds of the nation’s founders who came from different groups and agreed on Pancasila as a unifying diversity.

“Pancasila as the strong philosophy and principle of the state becomes the foundation in building a united, sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia,” the president said.
Jokowi noted the birth of Pancasila should be a momentum to remember and apply its value. Thus he called on the public to collectively implementing Pancasila in daily life.
At the ceremony, President Jokowi wore Javanese traditional costume with its beskap and blangkon, while Vice President Jusuf Kalla donned a creamy-colored long-sleeved batik shirt and black traditional cap.
Attending the ceremony of Pancasila Day were the fifth Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri, the sixth Vice President Tri Sutrisno, and the eleventh Vice President Boediono, as well as the ministers of Working Cabinet, the family of Pancasila formulator, and religious figures.
