TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno or Sandi decided to keep the location of the zero percent down-payment housing project that will be launched this yearend.

“I can’t reveal [the location], because it may spark speculations. So, please be patient,” Sandi said at Senayan yesterday.

Sandi explained that the program is still in the deliberation process and is expected to be rolled out by the end of this year. Sandi added that the budget for the program has been included in the City Budget.

However, housing developer PD Pembangunan Sarana Jaya earlier announced that the housing complex would be built at Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta. The city-owned developer promised that the groundbreaking of the project, initiated by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno would be conducted in early 2018.

“Hopefully, the pilot project at Pondok Kelapa will commence in early 2018,” PD Pembangunan Sarana president director Yoory C. Pinontoan at the City Hall on Tuesday, November 21.

Yoory said that the size of the land for the housing project at Pondok Kelapa is 1.3 hectares. As many as two vertical towers will be built on the land.

“It is no longer possible to build horizontal properties in Jakarta. The land is limited,” Yoory explained.

The Jakarta administration has allocated Rp799 billion for the housing project in the City Budget. Sandi views that the fund will be sufficient to realize his program.
