TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is targeting to have 35 new issuers listed in the course by next year. IDX president director Tito Sulistio is confident the target will be achieved.
"Our assumption is 35 more issuers," Tito said in Jakarta yesterday.
This year, the IDX targeted to have more than 30 new issuers. As of the beginning of October, 24 companies had gone public.
The last initial public offering (IPO) was done by Kioson Komersial Indonesia last week, making it the first digital-based startup to list its shares with the IDX.
Tito said eight more companies are set to hold IPOS in the remainder of the year.
If next year's issuers target is achieved, he said, IDX's market capitalization could increase to Rp7,000 trillion. The bourse's current market cap is Rp6,549.56 trillion.
