CPNS Job Opening in Yogyakarta Overwhelmed by Applicants

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - The hiring process for civil servant candidates (CPNS) at the Legal and Human Rights Ministry officially commenced on Monday. In the Yogyakarta region, the CPNS applicants were overwhelmingly large.
“Yogyakarta only has 26 slots for applicants with the bachelor degree, even though the number of applicants reached 5,964 people,” said Suwarno, Information Officer of the CPNS recruitment at the Ministry’s headquarters, on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

This means that 229 applicants will be competing for one seat. The overwhelming amount situation can also be witnessed for people applying for the minimum high school diploma position, there are 4,756 applicants competing for 160 available slots.
Suwarno explained that despite a large number of CPNS applicants, many failed to pass the initial process of the recruitment which includes data verification and registration. During the first day of the job opening, 702 from 830 applicants managed to make it to the next phase.
