TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned lender Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) declared that all networks of units and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) are completely recovered after repair was carried out to Telkom-1 Satellite.
"In the beginning of the week, we have recovered all networks affected by anomalies of Telkom-1 Satellite, so customers can access all BRI banking services," BRI Secretary Hari Siaga said in Jakarta on Sunday (10/9).
Previously, due to disruption or anomaly to Telkom-1 Satellite, 321 BRI’s ATMs and 124 work units were halted from operating.
After the anomaly, Hari continued, BRI migrated their network to BRI’s satellite BRIsat, and they prepared all supporting systems to another network reserve. As a result, Hari explained, in four days all networks of units and ATMs are back to normal.
Hari revealed that BRI did not suffer any losses in this incident, but he admitted that banking services were disrupted.
"In addition, customers do not need to be concerned since this incident will not affect the security of the customers’ data whatsoever," he said.
