Indonesia Enters Asian Men Volleyball Championship Semifinals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia moves into the semifinals of Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship after defeating Iran 3-2 at Tridharma Sports Center in Gresik, East Java, yesterday.
Indonesia men’s volleyball team was under pressure in the first set and beaten 18-25. The team coached by Samsul Jaim failed to equalize and lost in the second set 18-25.
Luckily, Indonesian players managed to show their mental strength by winning the next three sets, 25-23, 26-24 and 15-11.
Following the result, Indonesia will be facing tough opponent Japan in the semifinals, who beat Australia in the previous rounds. Indonesia lost to Japan 3-0 earlier in the quarterfinals of Pool E.
A semifinal match between Indonesia and Japan is scheduled for July 31. The other semifinal match of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship will pit together South Korea and Kazakhstan.
