TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has blocked Telegram app as of today, citing that it was used by radical groups in the country.
The Communications and Information Ministry has confirmed that it has blocked the instant messenger service Telegram. Communications and Information Ministry spokesman Noor Iza said that his office has blocked the platform since 11 o’clock today.
“We have blocked them [Telegram] because there’s an indication that it was used by radical groups to communicate intensively,” Noor told Bisnis.com.
