TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesperson Febri Diansyah said that investigators seized money in a sting operation (OTT) to several state institutions on Friday, May 26. Febri added that the money is still being calculated.
"Based on information from the team, the currency of the money is rupiah. I have not obtained any further details, but the money is currently being calculated," Febri said in KPK office on Friday evening (26/7). These institutions referred to are Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry.
Febri explained that KPK has caught seven suspects red-handed. Two of them are state officials, while the rests are government and non-government officials. He did not disclose the institutions further. "Tomorrow (Saturday, May 27), we will reveal the details," he said.
Febri added that KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of the 7 apprehended officials. "When the evidence is sufficient according the the law , they will be named as suspects," he confirmed. "But some will still be named as witness."
