TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian cellular operator PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) issued an apology after its official website was hacked on Friday morning, April 28, 2017.
“We apologize for the inconvenience that our customers have to endure,” Telkomsel Corporate Communication Vice President Adita Irawati said on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Telkomsel, Adita added, is currently investigating the incident and striving to restore public's access to the website.
During the initial hack, Telkomsel’s official website showed messages protesting the company’s internet service rate that was deemed to be expensive. The hacker also urged Telkomsel to lower the prices of its bandwidth cap packages.
A search on Google conducted at 9 a.m. showed that Telkomsel's official website was hacked. However, the website's appearance has returned to normal when the address is opened. to this date, the hacker remains unknown.
DIKO OKTARA
