Public Bus Drivers Sweep for Online Transportation Drivers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of public bus driver in Cibinong City and Cibinong Regency staged a mass strike and refused to pick up passengers on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. The drivers conducted sweepings and blocks online-based transportation drivers at several locations.
"Since morning, public bus drivers conducted a strike, they even stop several motorists suspected to be online motorcycle taxi drivers," said Rismanto, a resident of Sukahati, Cibinong on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
Rismanto claimed that he was one of the motorists blocked by the angry bus drivers. The drivers suspected that Rismanto was an online motorcycle taxi driver.
Rismanto added that a number of drivers had frisked him and examined his mobile phone for online transportation application.
"They examined my mobile phone whether I have online transportation application or not," Rismanto said.
In an attempt tp anticipate retaliatory sweeping actions, dozens of Police officers from the Bogor Resort Police and officers from the West Java Police Mobile Brigade are standing guard on several areas where the drivers are conducting their strike.
