TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flood waters inundate several regions in Jakarta, Bekasi and Depok on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. As a result, two toll roads to Jakarta have been closed and traffic is being rerouted.
Dwimawan Heru, AVP for Corporate Communication of state-owned toll operator PT Jasa Marga, said that toll road traffic is being rerouted due to flooding in Ramp 8 Simpang Susun Cikunir toward Pondok Indah and inundation in Cawang. Road users heading toward Bintara may still continue their travel after entering Cikunir 4 Toll Gate.
Road users heading to Pondok Indah, due to Ramp 8 closure, have to take the exit at Kalimalang Toll Gate before entering JORR Toll Road through Kalimalang 2 Toll Gate by showing Cikunir 4 Toll Gate receipt. “Road users will not have to pay an extra charge,” he said in a written statement today.
Meanwhile, road users heading to Jatibening Toll Gate toward Cawang will be rerouted to an arterial road before entering Jatiwaringin Toll Gate. “Due to 50 cm deep flooding,” he said.
Dwiyono added that Jasa Marga has used water suction devices to ease flooding concerns. Officers have also been deployed in flooded toll road sections.
