8,400 Personel to Secure `Kita Indonesia` Mass Gathering

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 8,400 personnel were deployed to secure a mass gathering called ‘Kita Indonesia’ (We are Indonesia) held from Harmoni to Hotel Indonesia Roundabout in Jakarta on Sunday.
Head of Communication Division of the Central Jakarta Resort Police Adj. Comr. Tri Yulianto said the personnel were spread in 10 spots.
"They are a joint team of regional police, resort police, mobile brigade, publir order agency personnel, and the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI),” Tri said in Central Jakarta on Sunday (4/12).
Tri added those points are Pandang Istana park, Patung Kuda, BPPT building, CTC, Jalan Juanda, Sultan Hotel, BIP Plaza, Kaca Building, Jalan Imam Bonjol, and Hotel Indonesia Traffic Circle.
According to Tri, those personnel have been standby in their designated posits since 5 am.
"We will stand ready until the program finishes,” he said.
Tri added that the personnel are also ready to anticipate any provicators or infiltrators in the event.
"We will secure it,” he added.
