TEMPO.CO, Semarang - Rio Olympics gold medalists Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir have been awarded with Rp1.5 billion home each by Perumahan Graha Padma, a subsidiary of Djarum.

“Congratulations to Owi [Tontowi] and Butet [Liliyana]. The houses are awarded as our appreciation of your victory,” President Director Graha Padma Internusa Semarang Hendra Setiaji said on Thursday, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Aside from a house. Tontowi and Liliyana also received Rp1 billion bonus and a 65 inch tv each from Djarum, totalling to Rp5 billion.

“I’m delighted, thank you Djarum for appreciating my and Butet’s triumph. I’m not really concerned about the amount because I appreciate the attention more. I’m hopeful that PB Djarum can continue to support athletes,” Tontowi said.

“I’m thankful to God, thank you to PB Djarum for the overwhelming appreciation and attention to us as well as Indonesian badminton. I hope it can encourage the next generations to continue our tradition of winning gold medals in the forthcoming Olympics,” Liliyana added.
