TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Insight, a new upcoming action thriller movie directed by Livi Zheng, a female Indonesian director, will soon hit Indonesian theaters. The movie, which tells a story about family losses, will be focusing on its storyline in addition to numerous martial art fighting scenes.
Livi, who made her way to the Hollywood at a very young age, has become one of the most inspirational young women along with his brother Ken Zheng, who casts as the main character in the movie.
Following the success of her first movie, Brush with Danger, which also features his brother Ken, Livi collaborated with Yayan Ruhian, an actor known to be an expert in martial arts, to create stunning fighting coreography for Insight.
"[Yayan] is an expert and we get well along very well," Zheng said in a press conference event for the movie on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Yayan himself had received praises for his performance in The Raid I and The Raid II, and was recently starred in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Although many believed that the action thriller genre might attract more male audience compared to female, the film's main actor Ken reassured that the heart and soul of the movie is centered on the storyline. The movie itself is scheduled to be released early next year in the United States and Indonesia.
