TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Heavy rain and strong wind hit Bogor city on Sunday afternoon, March 15, 2015, uprooting an Angsana tree with the height of 15 meter and the diameter of 90 centimeter located on Jalan Raya Pajajaran, Bogor.

As a result, two cars that were passing by were severely damaged after being hit by the falling tree. No casualties were reported in the incident but two families inside the cars are still traumatized.

"My family and I were planning to go sightseeing to Botani Square. However, when it was raining heavily, we were trapped in the red light,” said Ade Kurniawan (47), one of the victims.

Ade said that at that time, he was with his wife Evi (38) and his daughter Ipah (7) were inside a Toyota Avanza car.  He also said that when his car was stopping at the red light, they were startled by the sound from the upper part of the car.

"The sound was very loud. It turned out that my car was hit by a falling tree,” he said.

Ade suffered from minor damages in the incident.

"My family at first could not get out of the car because they were still traumatized. But I immediately got out of the car through the left door with my family because the right door could not be opened anymore,” he said.
