TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manchester United new boss Louis Van Gaal is recently linked back to Borrusia Dortmund defender Mats Hummel. After having his first bid rejected, the Daily Star reported that Van Gaal is set to offer a new bid of 30 million pounds.
The brave move was made after Van Gaal lost his hunt on Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen, who opted Barcelona instead of fellow Premier League contender. Initially, Van Gaal rejected Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger’s offer to swap the Belgium defender with Chris Smalling.
Van Gaal’s bid for a new defender might be an interesting report to keep up, given that Dutch manager has already experienced defenders exodus. Besides Hummels, Van Gaal is also reported to make a move to bid AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, despite efforts from Manchester City and Chelsea to sign the player.
