TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) had canceled the plan to take president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to budget speech at the House of Representatives (DPR) scheduled on August 15.
The Constitutional Court (MK) might have yet made the decision related to the presidential election dispute on the scheduled date, said Julian.
"We made a plan to conduct a joint-consultation. But since the legal proceeding with MK might still continue [on August 15], it can’t be done," Julian said at the State Palace yesterday.
President SBY planned on attending the budget speech with Jokowi at the parliament to discuss the budget and state speeches, acknowledging that the 2015 State Budget would affect the new government. However, the talks would not be feasible since the presidential election result is being disputed.
"So, we have to wait for MK to make the decision," Julian said.
