TEMPO.CO, Singapore - After championing the Malaysian Open last month, Indonesian shuttler, Simon Santoso, is thriving in the 2014 Singapore Open Superseries semifinal. Simon was qualified after defeating Lee Dong Keun of South Korea 21-18, 21-15.
"He was a tough player," said Simon as quoted by badmintonindonesia.org. "His defense was hard to break and his counter attack was good."
The 28-year-old, who struggled to keep up in the beginning of the first and second games, admitted he was being less patient.
"I changed my playing pattern by trying to be more patient when attacking, so I can win the game," said Simon who is sitting at the world's number 52.
At the semifinal today, Simon is going to take on world's number 7, Du Pengyu, from China. Their head-to-head record is equal, 2-2 with Simon winning last meeting at the Indonesia Open Superseries 2012.
